Penllergaer Primary School PTA Welcomes You!

All parents, carers, guardians, grandparents and staff are automatically members of Penllergaer Primary School PTA and are welcome to attend meetings and get involved. We would love to see or hear from you!

What we do

Our PTA aims to improve the school’s facilities and community spirit by arranging events and fundraising opportunities. We are always looking for new ideas and opportunities.

Example of popular events we have held are:

  • Halloween Disco
  • Christmas & Summer Fêtes
  • Easter Bingo
  • Mothers & Fathers Day gift sales
  • Story telling nights
  • Movie nights
  • Slime making workshops
  • Circus

If you have any other ideas please let us know!

We are passionate about supporting our school and making it the best it can be for our children. Over the years we have contributed towards/purchased:

  • PA system
  • Computer Equipment
  • Outdoor play equipment
  • Travelling theatre shows to perform at the school
  • Christmas treat for pupils

The current wishlist includes a large polytunnel and repairs to the Celtic round house amongst other things.

Ways you can help

We welcome help from everyone, no matter how small – Every little helps! There are lots of different ways you can help support your child through the PTA. It doesn’t have to be on a regular basis and you don’t necessarily need to come into school. If every family could spare half an hour we could achieve amazing things! Examples of ways you can get involved with the PTA are:

  • Helping at events – selling tickets on doors, selling sweets at discos, manning a stall at the fête, etc.
  • Helping in preparation for events – preparing raffle tickets, wrapping gifts, obtaining raffle prizes, etc.
  • Shop via www.easyfundraising.org.uk – just by shopping through this link you will be raising money for our school at no extra cost to yourself.
  • Helping to write grant funding applications
  • Gaining match funding from your employer
  • Volunteering to be a Committee member

The School would also be grateful for parents to help with the following:

  • Readers
  • Gardening
  • Outdoor maintenance
  • Welsh language
  • Assistance with after school clubs – e.g. cooking, sewing, sports, craft etc.
  • Accompanying classes on school visits

If you have any contact or skills we could use please let us know – everything is potentially valuable to us.
